OMD

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (aka OMD or O.M.D.) are a synthpop group and arguably the pioneers of the new wave synth acts of the later 1970s and early 1980s. The group was founded in 1978 by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys, who remained and were perceived as the core members in spite of lineup shifts. In late December 2005, after an almost twenty-year hiatus, the classic 1980′s lineup (Humphreys/McCluskey/Cooper/Holmes) regrouped for live performances and a new studio album. OMD’s most recent studio album, History of Modern, was released on September 20, 2010 to rave critical reviews.
